The Dark Bay unlocks with the Blackwater Stable in the Epilogue. I was able to acquire him very early game just before a mission completed. It wasn't the normal horse interaction at all. I was only able to feed him from a satchel. I fed him carrots until he bonded level 1. After the mission, he showed up on the map as a temporary and I had to return to get him. He had to be taken to a stable to be saddled and from then on the normal horse related prompts appeared. I got this idea from You Tube. I never think of things like this on my own. There's quite a few videos on horse exploits. superantonio's channel is a good one. Cerberus was the elite horse I used to catch a Black Rabicano Tennessee Walker. It happened way faster than I expected. Arthur had already leaped and Cerberus had stopped before I hit photo mode.
