RDR2-Flaxen Chestnut Hungarian Halfbred
Player character proudly riding his first wild captured horse with BB following.

Flaxen Chestnut Hungarian Halfbred. Acquired: Wild. Availability: Spawns in the wild. Name: Kond.
Health 4, Stamina 3, Speed 3, Acceleration 3.

OK, I just fell for this guy. His coat colours reminded me of the Halflinger which is a much smaller horse. He is named after an ancient Magyar war chief. He never saw much action though. We spent our time peacefully hunting and exploring. He did deal very well with a wolf swarm but that was about it. When I embarked on my horse collection spree, he languished in the stable for a while because I didn't want to sell him but eventually we needed his stall.

RDR2- Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfred
Nothing like riding on the beach.

Piebald Tobiano Hungarian Halfbred. Acquired: Mission Unnamed.
Health 4, Stamina 3, Speed 3, Acceleration 3.

I'm not certain about the availability of this one. It has a rare coat. It can be stolen and I'm sure I've seen it spawn in the wild but I don't remember exactly where.

RDR2-Iron Grey Ardennes
Don't know what made this lady suddenly run off but good opportunity for a photo.

Iron Grey Ardennes. Acquired: Cheat code. Availability: Chapter 2 Pre-order bonus. Unnamed.
Health 7, Stamina 5, Speed 3, Acceleration 3.

This horse is available at Valentine Stable for free if you pre-ordered the game which of course I did not. I want her but I don't want to cheat dammit. I made sure to save before I got this photo.

RDR2- Rose Grey Andalusian
Chill Rose showing off the elegant piaffe but it looks like...walking.

Rose Grey Andalusian. Acquired: Van Horn Stable. Availability: Chapter 6. Name: Chill Rose.
Health 7, Stamina 5, Speed 3, Acceleration 3.

I wasn't as enthused with her coat pattern and colours as I thought I might be but otherwise she's quite similiar to the Perlino. We took a ride from Valentine to Roanoke Ridge. It was uneventful until an unexpected cougar attack. I thought I had selected a rifle but got a bow out instead and missed. The cougar was practically under the horse by the time I got the rifle out. We just went around in a tight circle with the cougar, dead eye draining until PC finally shot it. She never made a noise or even started to rear. I was quite confounded by this. I have never had a horse let a cougar get that close. She was quiet generally but that's when I tagged her with Chill Rose. I got her out of the stable sometime later and she behaved more typically during a wolf attack but we were boxed in against some rocks and that might have made a difference.

RDR2-Strawberry Roan Ardennes
I couldn't resist trying this and yes he did land it. Passersby will comment on your lunacy if you try it in town.

Strawberry Roan Ardennes. Acquired: Van Horn Stable. Availability: Chapter 6. Name: Red King.
Health 7, Stamina 5, Speed 3, Acceleration 3.

I was able to name this guy right away. I decided that it might not be fair to take horses through Big Valley before bond level 3 at least. There are places on the map that are just as exciting to go but Big Valley never seems to disappoint. So we just goofed around for awhile, getting to know each other. We achieved bond level 3 and then it was big horse, Big Valley. Off we go. He definitely had snake trauma and needed to be calmed long after they were gone. At some point, we were ambushed by three enemy NPCs and he threw the PC just as I opened the weapon menu. I was pretty disappointed by that. Come on guy. I know I'm a bit slow but give me a chance. We started tracking that legendary animal again on foot. He got scared by something, probably a snake and ran off. We got our animal but of course got attacked by wolves while riding off with the pelt. He was OK at first but I was legit slow this time and he dumped the PC who finished off the wolves from the ground. No sooner than we continued our journey, a cougar attacked and PC got dumped again. All in all, a typical visit. He never ran very far when he got upset but he took a while to calm down. I like the size and looks of the Ardennes but I'm a lot more sold on the Andalusians.
