RDR2-Sooty Buckskin Dutch Warmblood
Just looking for a fishing spot.

Sooty Buckskin Dutch Warmblood. Acquired: Scarlett Meadows Stable. Available: Chapter 3. Name: DW.
Health 4 Stamina 5 Speed 3 Acceleration 3.

I completely forgot to name her and she got stuck with DW for Dutch Warmblood. By the time I got through Scarlett Meadows stable, she was my third female Dutch Warmblood and I was getting weary of the whole thing. I thought I might just take her out, get a screenshot and take a loss on the sale but once she was under saddle I thought she was pretty sweet and just kept going. We kept to familiar areas until bond level 3. We encountered wolves but I was able to dispatch them before she even got threatened. I decided the stream was too fast for fishing and lucky for us we left the bridge just before two trains came along.

RDR2-Cremello Gold Dutch Warmblood
Buell: "A little too close to the train maybe?"

Cremello Gold Dutch Warmblood. Acquired: Mission. Available: Chapter 6. Name: Buell.
Health 6, Stamina 6, Speed 5, Acceleration 5.

Buell is a wonderful horse. He was the last horse we acquired. Unfortunately he is one of the unique, named horses that can permanently disappear from the game. I usually save often but with him I made doubly sure. I decided that we should follow the railway tracks all around the map. I was familiar with parts of the system but not all of it. It paid off and we discovered some points of interest and gained some loot. You have the tracks all to yourself except for the damn trains. There's some long stretches high off the ground and we had a couple of close calls. We had just hopped off the track seconds before the photo was taken. We were forced off with no way forward and had to wait for the train to pass before continuing. We often left the tracks to explore surrounding areas. Buell reacts really strongly to snakes. PC hopped off one time hoping to track it but the red dot was actually a cougar. Fortunately, we were able to shoot it. We got attacked by a cougar again. I tried the poison arrow thing, fumbled and got guzzled that time. We spent the rest of our time trying to complete tasks and challenges. He gets a bit restless when he's untethered but he's quiet under saddle most of the time. He can get worked up and he's a terror to keep clean. He's currently stabled.

RDR2-Leopard Appaloosa
Daisy looks spectacular in moonlight.

Leopard Appaloosa. Acquired: Mission. Availability: Chapter 6. Name: Daisy.
Health 5, Stamina 6, Speed 4, Acceleration 3.

I don't remember how I arrived at Daisy but it was some kind of complex thinking I'm sure. The Leopard Appaloosa unlocks at Van Horn Stable during Chapter 6 but can be acquired earlier during a mission. She could get agitated under gunfire but she never reared or threw her rider. I had one incident with her when a cougar came up behind us from a slight elevation. I don't know if she ever noticed it but we killed it before it got too close. She never moved or made a sound. I really loved riding her around especially at night. One of the nicest looking horses in the game I thought.

RDR2-Brown Leopard Appaloosa
These trees are kind of like barrels right?

Brown Leopard Appaloosa. Acquired: Tumbleweed Stable. Availability: Epilogue. Unnamed.
Health 5, Stamina 6, Speed 4, Acceleration 3.

He has the same stats as the Leopard Appaloosa and is very nice looking in his right although he's a bit obscured in this photo. We were ambushed on the way out of Tumbleweed but there was big rock nearby. The PC went for cover and the horse ran off. You could still hear him carrying on in the distance. Having cover for once made this a relatively easy fight and we soon were on our way. We spent considerable time racing through the trees in St. Denis. This is one of the most reckless things we attempted on horseback and miraculously no one was killed or injured and the law was never called. I wanted to do something that resembled barrel racing and it was long before I discovered actual barrels set up for that sort of thing. I contemplated stumps, rocks and other objects but thought the trees might be better to navigate around. After that, we went on a productive hunting trip but the PC was killed in an unexpected panther attack. At least, I think it was a panther. No big cats have spawned in that area since so that was interesting. He was quite similiar to Daisy. Gets agitated but calms down easy.

RDR2-Grey Overo American Paint
Time to do a proper sliding stop and kick up some dust.

Grey Overo American Paint. Acquired: Tumbleweed. Availability: Epilogue. Unnamed.
Health 5, Stamina 5, Speed 4, Acceleration 3.

We had some early adventures with this one. We were attacked by wolves while innocently hunting plants. She held firm for two of them but the third got too close and PC was thrown. I don't remember now where we were but at some point we got held up and both horse and PC went down so I was forced to reload a game save. After that, we bagged two black bear pelts and two wolf pelts. She let me know a snake was nearby and I decided to track it. The snake was not close when PC dismounted but she ran away from the snake trail which was kind of interesting. Whenever a horse starts reacting to snakes the red dot is usually close so perhaps she was just still agitated and I thought she was calm. I suspect the threat response, stamina thing is complicated by a number of factors. Usually she calmed down fairly easily.
